Are you considering magnifying your organization’s programs, expanding existing facilities, or constructing new buildings? Could your endowment be boosted? Campaign fundraising provides organizations with the resources to achieve a vision and that is big, bold, and daring. A clear campaign strategy gets you to the finish line with exciting results.
Most importantly, successful campaigns engage your current donors and energize new contributors around your current work and future dreams. As campaign counsel Katharine works with non-profits on feasibility studies, readiness analysis, case for support, donor profiles, clear strategy for both the “quiet” and “public” phases of the campaign, and recommendations for the public launch of the project. Her goal is to ensure your success and sustainability before, during, and after your campaign.
Is your organization ready for a reboot? Going through a leadership change? Thinking of expanding or changing service areas? These are just a few of the reasons that point to the need for a fresh strategic plan. Through extensive research Katharine develops plans that articulate a clear mission, vision, values, and goals for each client. This work ensures that organizational leaders gain the confidence to launch major capital drives and/or magnify programs, while motivating your staff and volunteers. Katharine provides clear recommendations to put your plan into action right away to reach your goals.
Audits and Assessments
Are you achieving the best results in your annual giving program? Raising increased funds year-over-year is the bedrock of any successful fundraising operation. To make sure you are optimizing your staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors to realize ongoing fundraising success, Katharine conducts a development assessment with key personnel to determine the “culture of philanthropy” within your organization. A thorough analysis of your donor database lets you unearth the “gold in your goldmine.”
This process includes interviews with key stakeholders, data management analysis, and review of current materials. The assessment concludes with a report of findings and actionable recommendations designed to maximize future success.
For the services above, Katharine partners with the national firm Creative Fundraising Advisors. In addition to the capabilities described above, offerings include creative services, prospect research, and data analytics. For more information please visit: https://creativefundraisingadvisors.com.
Is your family foundation optimizing its giving? As America witnesses its greatest transfer of wealth during the next decades, family foundations will experience tremendous growth with trillions transferring to the non-profit sector. Katharine created and led the Nimoy Foundation with philanthropists Leonard and Susan Nimoy. With the Presidents of the Ford, Rockefeller, Rasmuson, and Prudential Foundations, she founded United States Artists in 2005, which annually awards 50 grants of $50,000 each to leading American artists.
At the Fielding Graduate University, she worked with First Foundation Advisors to design and teach an in-depth program focused on best practices in family foundation management. Most recently, she conceptualized and completed a study on the viability of a national Native American philanthropy with leaders in the gaming industry.
Katharine is frequent speaker on a variety of topics impacting the non-profit sector. Whether as a keynote, panelist, or teacher in live, webinar, television, or on-air settings, she delivers compelling and current information on subjects such as philanthropic trends, board development, diversity in volunteer and staff ranks, major donor strategies, next generation giving, crowd funding, etc. When her new memoir is released in late 2023—with an introduction by Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation—she will be available for appearances related to the book.
